Introduction to Pottery -- The Potter's Wheel - FULL
Mondays and Thursdays, 7 - 9:30 pm from January 19 - February 23, 2026. No class February 16 (Family Day).
Maximum of 8 students.

Learn the basics of throwing on the potter's wheel, as well as trimming and glazing your pots in our fully equipped pottery studio.  All supplies included.
Clay is messy, so bring an old towel and an apron to protect your clothes.

Introduction to Handbuilding 
Tuesdays from March 3 to April 14, 2026, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm (7 sessions, 3 hours each)
Last class Tuesday April 14

Maximum of 5 students.
​Handbuilding is a technique to make pottery without the use of a pottery wheel. This class will explore several major techniques to give you a solid foundation or add to your knowledge in working with clay.

One bag of clay and use of studio tools and glazes included.
This class will teach basic handbuilding and construction techniques. We’ll look at slabs, pinching, coils, and carving to make the many forms you see everyday. You’ll learn how to use the slab roller, extruder, forms and stamps in the studio. You’ll learn a broad range of skills and ways to look at nature and the world around you for inspiration. Classes are led by demonstration as well as one-on-one guidance. You’ll learn the glazing process and will take home multiple finished pieces over 6 weeks.
Working with clay is messy, bring a towel and or an apron.

Introduction to Pottery - Beginner Wheel Class 
Thursdays from March 5 - April 23, 2026, 6 - 8:30 pm, (8 sessions, 2.5 hours)
Cost: $300
Instructor: Russell Clarke
Maximum of 8 students.
Learn the fundamentals of the pottery wheel to create functional, handmade ceramics. Under the guidance of an experienced potter you’ll learn to design, create and refine your own pottery, from concept to completion.
  • No previous experience required
  • Tools, clay and glaze are provided
  • ​bring your own apron or towel to protect your clothes
* Online registration begins at 9 am on Sunday, February 15th. A link will be posted here at 9 am.​​

  • We do not reserve/hold class spaces or maintain a waitlist.
  • Applicable taxes will be added at time of registration/payment.
  • The studio is available for practice for a maximum of two weeks after the class has been completed and when other classes are not in session. There is no additional fee and access is available when the building is open.
  • All students will be instructed in the Guild Studio Procedures to familiarize them with the equipment if using the studio outside of class times. More information will be made available after registration. ​​
  • At this time, classes are for adults only (min. 19 years old) unless stated otherwise.
  • Class offerings and availability are subject to change.

cancellation:

A full refund is available if your registration is cancelled 15 days or more before the class start date.
There may be a partial refund less a $45 administration fee if your cancellation is received 14 to 8 days prior to the class start date.
No refund is available if the cancellation is received 7 (or less) days prior to the class start date.
